Crafting Epic Adventures

At Mythic Portal Games all of our creations start with a story.

It could be the influence that Extraterrestrials have had on the evolution and survival of humanity. Or the competition between space smugglers to become the undisputed best in the galaxy. Or possibly the desperate tale of mechanics and mages employing mechanical soldiers to push back the tide of evil in a post modern world in chaos.

It also can be the tales you spin yourself with our thousands of on-line assets, tokens and maps that are ideal for use playing your favorite RPGs on platforms like Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds.

If you open the right portal, there really is something for everyone and always more to be discovered bubbling in our creative cauldrons.

Portal History

Mythic Portal Games was founded in 2014 when partners Gary Hauger and Anna Meservier first discussed the idea of creating a card game over lunch. The initial concept, Cthulu Monsters vs. Steam-Powered Robots, evolved into Steam-Powered Sentinels. Originally intended as a living card game, it is now being refined as they explore the best route to bring the concept to market.

Noticing a conspicuous lack of spiral staircases for playing Dungeons & Dragons on the Roll20 platform, Anna and Gary decided to refocus the company into an art studio to produce the digital assets they needed tell their stories online. After developing dozens of packs and thousands of assets, they partnered with Astral Tabletop, becoming the house asset studio for the platform. The platform boomed during the COVID 19 pandemic, like most Virtual Tabletops, but ultimately faded.

Anna and Gary then shifted their focus back to their original vision for Mythic Portal, developing physical games while continuing to create digital assets and game supplements as stepping stones toward getting their games on store shelves and into players' homes. A line of character class Print on Demand t-shirts was launched in early 2025 and Alien Agendas, Kickstarted in late Summer 2025, will be the first physical game published.

Anna left Mythic Portal Games, in early 2024, to spend more time with her new family.

Gary continued on, solo, until recently when his son Gregg joined the company, spinning more tales and creating more games.

Gary has been obsessed with stories and games since his first deck of Uno cards and watching "Amazing Stories" on TV in his childhood.
An Avid reader, and consumer of all types of media, he is always on the lookout for the next great story to tell.

As a multi-award winning screenwriter and veteran RPG and table top gamer he brings decades of experience to his designs always with a flair for the dramatic.

His litmus test for a successful game is if players immediately want to reshuffle and play again.
He lives in a 100+ year old farmhouse in Maine, USA with his wife, teenaged son, Gregg and two cats (Bagheera and Crookshanks).

Gregg has been an avid tabletop and video gamer for most of his life. His favorite type of games are role-playing games (RPG) of all kinds, and he likes creating content for those games to share!

In 2023, Gregg successfully launched his own rules-lite tabletop roleplaying game called Goons & Doubloons as part of ZineQuest on Kickstarter, designing the game and do most of the interior illustrations for this publication.

Gregg heads Social Media and Marketing at Mythic Portal Games while still developing his own projects including an as of yet untitled TTRPG.
